We are thrilled by the positive response of our inaugural event! Many attendees remarked it offered engaging information and wonderful conversation among presenters, sponsors and attendees! Many great connections were made on both a business and personal level, including even kids play dates and mountain biking trips in the future! What follows is a brief summary of this fabulous event. Thank you to all who attended and we look forward to seeing you for our next event March 22. 2018!
Red Carpet Charleston kicked off their inaugural series with a bang at the
Dewberry Hotel. Each event looks to connect new arrivals to Charleston (having moved within the last 9-18 months) to established business and philanthropic leaders within the city. The events are carefully curated with a diverse group of presenters and attendance is capped at 50 people total to allow each attendee the ability to meet everyone in the room. The evening at the amazing rooftop space at The Dewberry Hotel was the first of four annual events.
Guests enjoyed a glass of champagne while enjoying arguably the best view in Charleston as the sun set over the city. The passed hors d'oeuvres and oyster station gave guests a place to meet and mingle. After informal introductions, the program kicked off.
Erik Flegal, a local financial advisor, kicked off the speakers in the areas of personal health, arts, non-profits, government, business and social organizations.
The speakers were engaging and interesting, they are listed below :
· David Ginn (Charleston Regional Development Alliance)
· Stan Gray (DIG South)
· Dr. Sarah Stapleton (MDVIP)
· Dr. Kathleen Brady and Loretta Lynch (MUSC)
· Dr. Brian Norris (World Affairs Council of Charleston)
· Julian Wiles (Charleston Stage)
Leaders from each of these organizations were available to meet each attendee in a casual cocktail atmosphere and were thrilled to develop new relationships. Many new residents moving to Charleston are looking for access to these organizations once they move to town, and the ability to quickly integrate into groups that match their interests is the overall goal of Red Carpet Charleston.
In addition to the connection with local groups, individuals connected on a personal level. Many participants are C-Level executives or successful entrepreneurs whose vision has carried them to business fortune and landed them in Charleston. The connections amongst the participants planted the seeds of future business growth within our shared local economy.
We’re very thankful to Daniel Ravenel Sotheby’s International Realty, Wells Fargo Private Bank, the Charleston Regional Development Alliance, DIG South and the Wiles Law Firm for their vision and support in making our first event a resounding success.
There is no doubt in anyone's mind that Charleston is an incredibly special place to live, work and raise a family. Both new residents and well established locals agree on this point. Our organization seeks to create lasting ties between these two groups to the greater benefit of our community as a whole. We believe that a great party is just a product of the amazing people in attendance. We look forward to your help in continuing the best party in 2018!
